Visa has announced an extension of its Click to Pay feature. With Click to Pay, Canadian consumers would be able to complete their purchases in a safer and faster manner. “With the increasingly high numbers of online shoppers in the wake of COVID-19, we are committed to providing solutions that lay the groundwork for the next generation of simple, secure, and better ways to pay,” Stacey Madge, the president and country manager at Visa Canada, said.
Madge added how the winning solution will support merchants through the reduction of shopping cart abandonment. Additionally, it would allow for a single integration for card brand participants. Overall, this would mean a simpler and smoother checkout experience for businesses and consumers who participate in ecommerce.
When a shopper has enabled their card and visits an online store that has the Click to Pay button, they would be able to quickly complete the guest checkout process. The need to enter their personal account number and find their password during the checkout would be bypassed. This would provide them with consumer confidence when it comes to secure payment processing procedures. Moreover, Visa’s use of advanced technology would allow for improved authentication methods that encompass biometrics and device binding.
Malcolm Fowler, the chief strategic partnership officer at Moneris, expressed his excitement in terms of the Canadian Click to Pay experience for businesses. “Click to Pay brings value to our merchants and to consumers through simple, efficient and secure transactions,” he said in an announcement.
Such an announcement arrives in the context of the worldwide coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The popularity of online shopping coincides with Visa’s Click to Pay experience launches.
